This is my circulation report from the MIT Science Fiction Society Library.
The MIT Science Fiction Society Library is "The world's largest open-shelf collection of science fiction." Naturally, I became a member within 14 days of my appointment to the MIT Libraries. The collection is impressive. As my circulation report shows, I have been taking the opportunity to work through the published work of some of my favorite, but hard to acquire science fiction authors. I am one of those readers who must complete every book in a series no matter how much the quality drops off, and usually isn't satisfied until I've read every word an author ever penned. You can imagine my supreme joy upon receiving access to this collection.
The MIT SFS Library tracks the borrowing habits of its members through good old fashioned hand-written circulation sheets. When I filled up my first one, they gave it to me. In the spirit of my participation in the dijalog lifestyle and my great desire to provide to an unintersetd public all the various booklists I daily navigate, here she is, in two versions.
